I, the person submitting this entry (and my child(ren), if I am signing as a parent or legal guardian) agree to abide by the rules and decisions of any event officials, and assume responsibility for all risks associated with the event and any associated event or activities, including but not limited to illness, injury, damage, falls, contact with other participants, effects of the weather, traffic, road conditions, all such risks being known and appreciated. I (and my child, If I am signing as a parent or legal guardian) and anyone entitled to act on my (our behalf(s), assume all risks associated with the participation, and waive any and all claims by fully releasing The Athletic Collective, LLC, Texas Oncology, Texas Oncology Foundation, McAllen Guns & Hoses Foundation, the City of McAllen, the City of McAllen Police and Firefighter Departments, all Emergency Medical Services, Race Directors, Race Organizers, Race Volunteers, Race Sponsors, and any extended agents associated with this event from any liability and/or culpability. Additionally, I understand that it is my responsibility to abide by any and all COVID restrictions/guidelines set forth by the CDC, state and local governments. If I participate as a cyclist I fully understand that I need to ensure my bicycle is fit for the road, that I wear a bike helmet, have front and rear functional lights, and that I agree to follow ALL laws of the road. Cyclists participating in the 100K ride must be able to maintain an 18 mile per hour pace. Walkers and runners also agree to follow ALL laws of the road even with assistance from law enforcement on the course. I also grant full permission to any and all of the aforementioned to use my (and my child(ren)'s) name or photographs, videos, and other recordings of participation in this event, without obligation or liability to me (and my child(ren)). As this is a benefit event, I also understand that the entry fees are not refundable, even if the host has to cancel the event for any reason. Any race packets not picked up by race morning will be considered donations. NEW REGISTRATIONS DURING PACKET PICK UP AND RACE MORNING WILL NOT BE CHIP TIMED. I have read this agreement carefully, fully understand it, and certify my agreement by my signature below.
